Recoup the Soup

Third time is the charm.  Second attempt miserably missed the target. I had to ramp up my efforts to achieve the missing element, flavor. The smoked ham hock in the center tipped the balance.

That is one UGLY soup, but Uncle Joe would be proud of the effort...

Colleen: I have to agree. I shuddered when I took the picture with my cooking phone. Those photo cook books sound really great. I hope I do get to sign up for one.

D: Took me a lifetime to figure out that I really needed to expend a lot of effort learning to cook. You're right, it goes with everything.
